Often overshadowed by the series’ spectacular character design, One Piece has arguably the best character outfits and costume design in shonen in recent years. Be it Katakuri’s spikes to match his tough exterior or Doflamingo’s bold feather coat that oozes confidence, every outfit choice seems well-thought-out and perfectly reflects each character’s personality and the story’s setting.

That said, while some of the outfits on this list may not be that meaningful or deep, they sure are extremely fashionable and worth drawing inspiration from be it for a convention, trick-or-treating, or an everyday look.

15 Brook Rocks a Pastel Afro in Stampede

While this may not be Brook’s best look of the series, it most surely is the most fun and experimental, earning it a spot on the list. In all, costume design plays a crucial role in any story setting. It can often be an indicator of a character’s background, personality, motivations, and even their role and destiny within the story. While One Piece is mostly known for its intricate mysteries, exciting battles, and incredible plot, the outfits on this list prove that Eiichiro Oda has a great eye for fashion too.
